Brunch at Balthazar

The concept was born on an inspiration trip to Copenhagen, where the team fell in love with the relaxed brunch culture and decided to bring that feeling home to Borås. Every weekend, we lay out a brunch full of life and colour. Choose 3, 5 or 7 dishes from our flavour-packed menu, from fresh to deliciously indulgent. Here you'll find fluffy pancakes, creamy scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fresh salads and freshly baked sourdough bread, alongside classics like eggs benedict and eggs florentine.

The menu is updated with the seasons and built on locally sourced ingredients, with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options for everyone at the table.

Vi serverar helgbrunch mitt i hjärtat av Borås: lördagsbrunch 10.00–17.00 och söndagsbrunch 10.00–16.00, året runt. Till skillnad från en brunchbuffé beställer du à la carte och väljer själv tre rätter för 179 kr, fem för 249 kr eller sju för 300 kr per person — allt lagas när du beställt det. Boka gärna bord i förväg, eftersom helgerna brukar bli fullbokade.

Common questions about brunch

When does Balthazar serve brunch?

We serve weekend brunch every Saturday 10 am–5 pm and every Sunday 10 am–4 pm, all year round. Saturday brunch runs later than Sunday brunch.

What is the difference between Saturday and Sunday brunch?

The menu and the prices are the same on both days. The difference is the timing: Saturday brunch stays open an hour longer, until 5 pm, while Sunday brunch ends at 4 pm. That makes Saturday the choice for a late afternoon brunch, and Sunday the calmer of the two.

How much does brunch at Balthazar cost?

You choose how many dishes you want: three dishes cost SEK 179, five dishes SEK 249 and seven dishes SEK 300 per person. Drinks are extra.

Is the brunch a buffet?

No. Instead of a buffet you order à la carte from the brunch menu and pick three, five or seven dishes, cooked to order. They arrive as they are ready and are made to be shared at the table.

What is on the brunch menu?

Among other things eggs benedict, eggs florentine, poached and fried eggs, creamy scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, fluffy pancakes, avocado with sea salt and chilli flakes, fresh salads and freshly baked sourdough from our own bakery. The menu changes with the seasons.

Do I need to book a table for brunch?

We strongly recommend it. Weekends are often fully booked, especially between 11 am and 2 pm. Book at balthazar.se, call +46 33 799 14 00 or e-mail bokning@balthazar.se.

Are there vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free brunch options?

Yes. The brunch menu has plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and several dishes are marked lactose-free. Tell us about any allergies when booking and the kitchen will adapt.

Can I bring children to brunch?

Yes, brunch works well for families. We have highchairs, and dishes such as pancakes and eggs tend to go down well with younger guests. Children’s portions can be arranged.

Where is Balthazar and is there parking?

Balthazar is at Lilla Brogatan 14 in Pallas Shopping, 503 30 Borås, by the river Viskan in the city centre. There is parking in the building, and the waterside terrace is usable all year round.
